Our story began over 40 years ago.

Who We Are

East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization comprised of an interfaith alliance that seeks to serve God by serving the basic needs of persons in East Fort Bend County.

Our mission is to address the basic human needs of families facing food insecurity and/or temporary financial crisis in East Fort Bend County.
We believe faith is expressed in caring for the poor, the homeless and all who have no access to the abundant resources our society possesses.
We unite with others in our community who believe loving our neighbors and serving those in need is an essential expression of one’s love for, and desire to serve God.
We are confident working together will enrich our relationship and expand the scope of our service.
It is our objective to respect the dignity and value of every individual and to offer assistance with humility and compassion.
Our goal is to alleviate hunger and raise our community’s awareness to the problem of the needy in our area by:
• Efficiently administering the Interfaith Food Pantry.
• Aiding persons and families in temporary crisis situations.
• Helping persons understand and utilize resources within the community.

The Tri-City Resale Shop Opened Its Doors

The Resale Shop was founded to serve the Tri-City area of Stafford, Missouri City and Sugar Land. Founding congregations included:

The Interfaith Food Pantry Opened Its Doors

The Food Pantry met in a temporary building behind New Hope Lutheran Church. Founding congregations included:

East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry Begins

This year marked the birth of the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc. and the Financial Assistance program, which provided rent, mortgage and utility assistance to those in short-term crisis. As a separate entity, it shared facilities with the Food Pantry. Founding congregations included:

Our New Facility

In March, the Ministry moved into its new facility at 425 Stafford Run Road in Stafford, and celebrated our tenth anniversary.

More Space for More Ministry

In September, the Ministry moved into its current facility located at 435 Stafford Run Road. The building is 13,000 square feet and houses the food pantry, financial assistance program, private client interview rooms, education classrooms and administrative offices. More space for more ministry opportunities!

Resale Shop Renovation Completed

In February, the renovation of Tri-City Churches Resale Shop was completed. The Resale Shop has now expanded to 10,000 sq. ft. with increased space for merchandise and storage. The Resale Shop is the largest funding source for East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry and all of their proceeds go directly to funding the Ministry.

We never know what the future holds, but we’re excited to see the impact East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry continues to make in the community.

Celebrating 30 Years

In 30 years, East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry distributed over $13 million worth of food and $3 million in financial assistance.
